Merkin Vineyards Hilltop Winery & Trattoria features a full menu of freshly made breads, pastas, entrees, salads and wood-oven pizzas, along with finely crafted Arizona wines, select beers and cocktails. Also onsite is the greenhouse and bottle shop and retail space.
Merkin Vineyards Pocket Park Gelateria houses our gelato production facility and walk-up window featuring seasonal gelato flavors from Gelato Master Kelley E. Foy.
Experience: Two years or more of experience in the food and beverage industry is preferred.
Compensation: $12.15 plus tips

Days/Hours: Somewhat flexible. 30 – 40 hours per week available

Position Summary: The Food Runner, is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately, acting as the point of contact between Front of the House and Back of the House staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Assist the wait staff with table setting by gathering and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins.
- Monitors food order ticket times.
- Communicates between kitchen and servers.
- Ensures quality and consistency of food before delivering to guests.
- Delivers food to customers accurately and rapidly.
- Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature).
- Remove dirty dishes and utensils.
- Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items.
- Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check).
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
