Position Summary: The Sous Chef is responsible for planning and preparing food in the restaurant and supervising other kitchen staff.

Experience: Five years or more experience in a full-service restaurants, to include pizza experience.

Compensation: Competitive salary depending on experience.

Duties Include: 

The following is a general, but not fully inclusive, list of basic daily/weekly job duties and functions:  

  • Oversees food preparation and cooking.  Prepares meals and food to meet the specifications of guests in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the hiring and training of new kitchen staff.
  • Properly measures kitchen ingredients and food portions.
  • Ensures kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements.
  • Uses kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation.
  • Manages kitchen inventory and ensures supplies are fresh and of high quality.
  • Ensures proper food temperatures when cooking and storage after.
  • Keeps workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized according to sanitation standards.
  • Facilitates kitchen opening and closing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.
